has lived in
Rockport for fifteen years, participated in community, school, and town
organizations and events, and served for six years on the board of the
Rockport
Chamber Music Festival. She was a
founding member of the Rockport committee on economic development. Jan
has a
firm belief and commitment to dance as a way of transforming our lives.
She is
in tune with the inspirational and healing influence dance has on
individuals
and communities. She brings to the Board keen communication skills and
a finely
tuned awareness of how to motivate and inspire people to do their best
work.

Geoff
is a
lifetime resident of Cape Ann and owner of Geoffry H. Richon &
Company
Contractors. Geoffry an unparalleled community organizer,
and has been a driving force behind
such projects as Gloucester Stage Company, Blackburn Theater Company, the Moore's Way (a drug and alcohol
recovery facility), Rockport Senior High (low income housing project
for seniors).
He almost single-handedly conceived, designed, fundraised for, and
pushed into
existence the Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center. Geoff brings to the
board a
complete knowledge of Gloucester and its people and government,
numerous
personal connections from every segment of the population, and an
unshakable
optimism and vision regarding the city.

is the
creator and founder of Dancers Courageous and all of the Legends
programs. His
lifelong passion for dance and story telling has been put to its best
use here

teacher, choreographer, and director of Dancers
Courageous. He is the Executive Director of the organization and
continues to
be its primary guide and advocate.

Roberta
M.
Ginda-Vrachos moved to Gloucester in 1974, having fallen in love with
the area
while a student at Northeastern University. Her long-time love of dance
led her
to Dancers Courageous in 1992. She has studied and performed with the
company
ever since. Roberta has been employed by Gorton's of Gloucester since
1975, and
brings to the Board a thorough understanding of business from the
inside.
